"A tender melancholy tale about a girl who left her "angel in the snow" of a small town to spend Christmas in the Big Apple. One of those rare Christmas songs that won't have you pulling your hair out mid-December." Instead, you'll likely be imagining yourself under the mistletoe or wondering what "Christmas kisses you won't know.

So many Christmas songs are patronizing to the season. At its core, this is a genuine love song about the distance people can artificially create between themselves. Written on the Energy Commission's infamous Pink Ukulele, the tune is carried along with pointed harmony lines as you'd expect of a Christmas song, but the lyrics are clever and timeless all at once. And the production is kept simple while the bass line moves throughout the song with an unassuming sophistication. "Missing Mistletoe" doesn't exploit the symbols and traditions of Christmas to patronize the listener and that's what makes it such a refreshing Christmas song. Instead, it uses them as colors on a palette to paint a scene of a young Midwestern man longing for his love as she leaves to spend her holiday in the Christmas Capital of the World, New York City."

Bart Wolf - Brag Magazine

Missin' mistletoe and the
Christmas kisses we won't know
Wishin' we stood below it
But you left your angel in the snow
Where'd you go?
Missin' mistletoe
Why'd you go and
Leave your angel in the snow

I know you're dreamin' of a white season
But I'll always wonder why you're leavin
For New York the city that never sleeps
Shoppin' for a miracle on 34th street

You know I'm back home and where my heart is
Flurries fillin' up that hole you left when you departed
I tried to trace your footprints and follow you
But this mighty white blizzard came howling through
I'd love to see the snow fall on your dark hair
While you're dancin' with the lights down in Times Square

That skating rink and caroling around that Christmas tree
Hopin' as you open up those gifts you'll think of me
